【报告人简介】

李恒云，美国南卡莱罗纳大学博士，香港理工大学助理教授。研究兴趣包括商务智能、用户生成内容、大数据分析与需求预测和机器学习。在国际知名期刊上发表了多篇论文，包括商科ABS 4 论文12篇、ABS 3 论文16篇、Google H-index 为25，多篇论文入选ESI高被引论文；主持十多项研究项目，包括国家自然科学基金、香港政府研究资助局研究基金、香港理工大学酒店与旅游业管理学院大型跨学科项目等；获“香港理工大学学院杰出青年研究员”“学院卓越研究奖”“校长褒奖信”等多个奖项，并在2022年提名“香港理工大学校长研究奖”。担任多个国际著名学术期刊Annals of Tourism Research，Journal of Travel Research，Journal of Sustainable Tourism，Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research，Tourism Economics，Tourism Analysis的编委。

【报告摘要】

This study aims to forecast international tourist arrivals to Hong Kong from seven English-speaking countries. A new direction in destination tourism demand modeling and forecasting is presented by incorporating tourist-generated online review data related to tourist attractions, hotels, and shopping markets into the destination forecasting system. The main empirical findings indicate that tourism demand forecasting based on tourists’ online review data reflecting both tourist interest and sentiment can substantially improve the forecasting performance of tourism demand models. The output will assist Hong Kong in establishing an automatic, real-time, and big data powered tourism demand monitoring/forecasting system, so as to better serve Hong Kong tourism recovery.
